Why your iPhone video colours look off, and how to fix them
By Con, founder of Music Wide Selfie · Updated 22 October 2026
Short answerOff colours usually come from mixed light, like daylight plus warm bulbs. Use one type of light, turn off the light you don’t need, and correct colour in your editor. Photographic Styles on supported iPhones set an overall look.
Mixed light
Window light is cool; most bulbs are warm. A face lit by both looks patchy. Use one type where you can.
Consistency
Lighting changes during a shoot change the colour between clips. Film each scene in one go.
Fix in editing
Warmth and tint sliders in editing apps fix most casts.
Photographic Styles
On supported iPhones, Photographic Styles change tone and warmth for photos and, on newer models, video.
Questions
Can I set white balance manually?
Not in the built-in Camera app. Some third-party camera apps allow it.
