How to make a short film on your phone

Short answerWrite a one-page story with a clear change, plan shots, film in good light with steady shots and clean sound, cover each scene from a few angles, then edit tightly and add music last.

Keep it small: one character, one problem, one change. Short is better.

Plan

List every shot. Note which scenes need which locations so you film efficiently.

Film

Steady shots on a stand or gimbal.
Wide, medium and close-up of each scene.
Clean sound: mics near the actors.

Edit

Cut anything that doesn’t move the story. Add music after the picture works.
